Samui airport has lost none of its original charm
Without a doubt, the location of Karma Samui Villa 14 is one of the best on Koh Samui. Why? Because it is close to everything you will need including shops and restaurants in Chaweng, which are only five minutes drive away and the all important drive to the airport, again only five minutes away.
Yet, when you arrive at Karma Samui Villa 14 and you look at the view you will feel you are a million miles from anywhere.
Let me run through the procedure when you arrive at the airport.
Koh Samui airport is small with only one runway. The new recently finished terminals, still basically large open air roofed huts, but more spacious than before are beginning to take on the look of a real airport, but don’t worry, Samui airport has lost none of its original charm.
Back in 1989 passengers were greeted with garlands as they stepped off the gaily-painted Disney like passenger carts and entered the arrivals hall.

The passenger carts are still there, but now it has the feel of a serious airport and as you arrive you think to yourself maybe you shouldn’t have packed that extra bottle of spirits in case customs ask you to open your bag. No need to worry though, the staff seem as laid-back as ever they were.

For those of you used to the old terminal buildings you may find it a bit confusing to get around, especially when you are flying out and going to the departure gate, in our case, gate 6 for international departures. However, as always the helpful staff will make sure you get to where you are going.
Once you have collected your bags, you will be taken by passenger cart to the rendezvous point where you will be met by a representative from Karma Samui, who manages our villa for us, and before you have time to cool off with cold hand towels and have a sip of bottled water, you will be approaching the main reception area at the front of Karma Samui.
Once you register with reception, you will be driven to villa 14 by buggy, just a short walk away and hopefully, it will be a “Wow” factor for you.
Information on the use of villa 14 will be given to you by one of the reception staff and they will also help you to settle in.
There will be a 5 star hotel style service during your stay and the staff at Karma Samui will assist you in every way possible. Just ask and it will be delivered with a smile.
